Types of DNA Paternity Tests
DNA paternity testing determines whether a man could be the biological father of a child or not. The type of paternity test you need will depend on what you intend to use the DNA test results for.
Home DNA Paternity Test
If you need the test only for your own personal knowledge and peace of mind, a Home DNA Paternity Test will do. Unlike the Legal DNA Test which follows a strict chain of custody documentation process, a Home DNA test allows the tested parties to collect their own samples at their convenience. Once the samples have been collected by you at home, simply return them to us in the self addressed envelope provided.
Legal DNA Paternity Test
If you need paternity test results that can be used for legal or court ordered purposes (if you need to change the name on the child’s birth certificate or to obtain child support or other benefits), a Legal DNA Paternity Test needs to be performed.

Paternity DNA Test Results
The result of a paternity DNA test is either an exclusion (the alleged father is not the biological father), or an inclusion (the alleged father is considered the biological father). For a standard paternity test DNA Services of America routinely returns at least 99.99% probability of paternity for inclusions or 100% certainty of exclusion.
